🤗 BEST BUDDIES:
Best Buddies (BB) is an international program dedicated to the inclusion of all students with different abilities. You would be joining BB as a Peer Buddy (PB). The role of the PB is to be a friend to students with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Under normal circumstances you would visit one of the self contained special ed classes once a week to socialize with students with IDD, these students are Buddies.
Once a month we would have an after school Social, during this time you would play games with the Buddies, participate in an art/craft activity and just simply hang out! This makes the Buddies extremely happy and we promise it will make you happy as well when you see the smile on their faces. For now, we will have virtual meetings and socials via google meets. BB is a great opportunity to gain volunteer hours with Passport For Good. It is also a great addition to college applications and job resumes since it is a program known worldwide and throughout many college campuses.
If you would like to join or would like more info on BB contact Miss G. at tgiglio1@albany.k12.ny.us or Mrs. Miller at kmiller1@albany.k12.ny.us
