Hi! I’m Mrs. Weklar, I have been teaching in the Albany City Schools for 18 years. ::gasp:: I have been at the High School for 10 of those years, and teaching Government & Economics for 7 years.

My goal for this course is that students are able to gain an understanding of where they fall politically and why they hold the beliefs they do. Ultimately I hope students understand their place in our democracy and how they can utilize their voice in the process.

Participation in Government and Economics are two separate semester courses,  Students must successfully complete both semesters with a passing grade of 65 or better in order to graduate.

Analyzing, monitoring and discussing issues and policies are the fundamental activities of this course. This course culminates with a capstone project that incorporates skills and concepts taught in both Participation in Government and Economics.
